‘Cooking on a Budget’

New Badgework in Action

Newtownards Elim Craftsmen took on the challenge of the ‘Cooking on a Budget’ Badge. Although there were only two Craftsmen they managed to produce a meal for seven people (with leftovers for themselves!!) and were able to give a choice for each of the three courses.

Starter    Lentil Soup or Orange and Grapefruit Cocktail

Main    Chicken and Broccoli Bake or Tuna and Pasta Bake

Served with side salad and crusty bread.

Dessert     Strawberry and Chocolate Mousse or Tropical Fruit and Ice Cream

The meal was enjoyed by all the invited guests who praised the ‘chefs’ on the food, how well it was cooked, the variety and the presentation.

We did go slightly over budget but a meal for 4 people averaged out at under £7.
